The sparkling star behind it all, Louise van Graan
With an equal love for exquisite jewellery design as well as people and their intricate stories, Louise van Graan has been living out her passion in combining these two as a creative jewellery designer for the past 13 years.
Straight after completing her BA fine arts with Creative Jewellery design and metal technique degree at the University of Stellenbosch in 2006, she started creating bespoke jewellery pieces. She also had a design studio and boutique in Stellenbosch for 11 years where she had an established brand, selling her unique jewellery pieces across South Africa and abroad.
In 2016, Louise, together with her husband Rudolf and 3 boys relocated to Paarl. Working from her home in Val de Vie Estate, Paarl, Vonkel Jewellery design was born in 2018.
‘Vonkel’ , Afrikaans for sparkle or twinkle, refers to the sparkly jewels that she loves to create, but it also speaks of her mission on celebrating life and all things beautiful, letting a light shine into the hearts of the people crossing her life path, as well as leaving that twinkle in the eye of her customer by creating timeless elegant jewellery that could be passed through generations, carrying stories of life and love.
Louise believes that behind every great design, there lies an even better story. It is her pleasure and her challenge to weave those stories into her bespoke designs, marrying old and new, and creating authentic and beautiful jewellery pieces that would stand the test of time.
